Why haven’t I seen burning buildings or lines for food, and why haven’t I seen a dime of this $700 Billion, shouldn’t Bush be out like FDR in front of large crowds opening new public works projects? I’ve seen 4% more people out of work, and that number is on the rise, is the world going to collapse? Before you waste the next 5 mins. reading this article lets get one thing straight: Thanks to conglomerate companies and marketing (real marketing not advertising) we have been able to slash the real-cost of feeding a family almost in half since the 1930s, so no one is going starve to death and personally I think Tarrence could go without his Butterfinger Blizzard in Q1 and Q2 of 09. Remember the Dinosaurs didn’t even have structured economy and they were able to feed themselves for nearly 160 million years.
Well for one thing, our financial crisis was created by digital red zero’s in virtual markets for derivative assets (assets that derive their value from actual resources), and therefore most of the changes are going to happen in this very same world of 1s and 0s. Sure 20% of us may get laid off but people are still going to watch TV, drink wine and treat people with the same disrespect they always have. Everyone is still going to follow their local sports teams and spend what little money they do have on their crappy vacations, buying over ratted Seafood, cheaply assembled nick knacks and wind chimes. No one died, and no one is going to die. Remember we’ve got bigger things to worry about, like; the fall of actual religions, the rise of idiots, the Super Bowl, The Jonas Brothers getting media coverage, Britney Spears’ come back and for gods sakes people have we forgotten about the Polar Bears, the Ice Caps and Global Warming!!
No one is going to loose their true love as a direct effect of the pending financial doom, at best we can hope a few people will realize what is truly important, and maybe just maybe they can strip their minds of the middle class dogma and be able to truly live. If there is one thing we’ve learned from studying human history, No one is every 100% correct about anything, and those that think they are always get the blind faith of fools, then these “fools” act surprised when they screw up. Everyone trusted their financial advisor, they didn’t know anything about helping others achieve happiness and neither does their boss. Instead of doing some life research they did some broker research and concluded they’d be happy if they had 500k stashed away for retirement, no matter how much their life sucked for the previous 50 years at least they’d be able to retire happy. What the crap is “Financial Freedom” anyway? Billy Madison had financial freedom and he wasn’t happy. But now what? Their savings are down 40%, they haven’t taken a vacation in 15 years, their wife hates them, they never got that pool table they dreamed of because they bought 5 more shares of Allied Waste Management instead, and on top of all of that their dog has worms. Now what you middle class sad fuck?
George Carlin is dead. That is the real tragedy of this year. You annoying life suckers finally did it, you irritated the one level headed guy, so much so that he crapped out on us.

T Boone Pickens just told me that wind chimes are the wave of the future.
Great post, see you at the beach house Ed.
